Working in Indesign can be a pleasure or a huge pain if you are not very organized, especially when you have documents with many pages.  I like to work clean and to check items before I place them but at the end I recheck things, just to be sure.

First, you should have a look at you  page panel, the pages with a little square near let’s you know what pages contain transparency.

For projects with a maximum of 2 pages I like to use Photoshop. I don’t have to worry too much with the file size and I can design more complicated stuff, edit pictures on the spot, effects and so on.  For those who are like me I’ll write how to set the document correctly for print purpose.

Open Photoshop and create a new file (Ctrl+N), name your file if you want. From the Preset tab choose your paper type and then your flyer size. These graphics are scalable to any size and detail. Continue Reading Vector Graphics…

prepare file for printAfter you received the OK for the layout you have to send the file to a printer. In order to this you have to prepare the file for print. If you work very clean and prepare your file while you make the layout then you will just have to make a quick check-up but if you tend to leave all at the end you have to make sure you prepare your file before you send it. So no matter what software you used to create  the layout you will have to check a few basic things.  Continue Reading Prepare the file for print…

dpiThings are different when comes to web and print. The monitor resolution is 72dpi (dots per inch), this is the resolution that looks good for the eye but 72dpi images can not ensure a high quality print. There is a lot to explain here but there is no point to do this because it’s gets to complicated. Continue Reading Your designer asks for 300dpi pictures…why is that?…
